Parents as Partners
Covid restrictions meant that we have had to be quite innovative in how we engaged and supported our parents. We see the benefits of using Social Media and our Blog to help keep you updated about general activities that we get up to at Pre-School.
During the darkest days of COVID-19 Lockdown we established a private Facebook support group for families where we posted ideas for home activities, and parents & carers could talk and share posts of what they had been getting up to.
This helped bridge the feeling of isolation that was quite prevalent at this time
We want to re-assure parents and carers that there are still personal touchpoints through video and telephone calls that we can use to help continue dialogue to support your child's development at the present time.
Supportive parents
Exbourne Pre-School recognises parents as the first and most important educators of your children. We seek to set expectations between our staff and parents/carers to see each other as active partners in providing care and education for their child/ren.

There are many ways that parents can take part in making the setting a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents such as:

-
exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with our staff;
-
helping at sessions of the setting (not practical during Covid-19);
-
sharing their own special interests with the children;
-
helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities;
-
taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the setting;
-
joining in community activities in which the setting takes part;
-
building friendships with other parents in the setting
